The Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering events from concept briefing through completion. The role manages the full event lifecycle, ensuring that events meet their objectives, are delivered within budget and timelines, and provide a high-quality experience for clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
Given the fast-paced matrix environment at Samsung, this role heavily relies on proactive stakeholder management and the ability to simultaneously lead and prioritize multiple end-to-end projects. The Event Manager combines strong project management and organizational skills with political sensitivity, communication prowess, and high operational agility.
The Event Manager will report to the Head of PR, CSR & Events.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Project & Portfolio Management: Simultaneously plan, track, and execute multiple complex events and projects under tight deadlines while maintaining flawless execution and attention to detail.
- Proactive Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders (sales teams, marketing, PR, HQ) and external partners (agencies, venues, suppliers) to align on expectations, manage dependencies, and ensure business alignment.
- End-to-End Planning & Execution: Plan and manage events from initial briefing through execution, budget management, and post-event evaluation.
- Supplier & Contract Management: Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure high deliverable standards and cost efficiencies.
- Budget Oversight: Develop and monitor event budgets, approve expenditures within agreed authority, and ensure full financial reconciliation.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Drive clear communication, briefing processes, and alignment across diverse departments, ensuring clear expectation management at every stage.
- On-Site Operations & Risk Mitigation: Oversee on-site setup, troubleshooting, guest experience, breakdown, and contingency management, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and venue policies.
- Post-Event Evaluation & Reporting: Conduct post-event evaluations, capture feedback, reconcile budgets, measure performance against key results, and maintain clear documentation.
- Stakeholder Management & Matrix Navigation: Exceptional ability to build trust, align conflicting priorities, and communicate seamlessly across all organizational levels, including senior management, cross-functional teams, and external strategic partners.
- Multi-Tasking & Project Prioritization: Proven track record of managing a high volume of simultaneous projects, prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-moving, dynamic corporate environment without compromising quality.
