Job summary

DRW is seeking a Trading Systems Engineer in Amsterdam to support core proprietary trading systems, implement changes during trading hours, and maintain high-availability production environments across Linux and Windows platforms.

You will work with DBAs, development, QA, and infrastructure teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize systems; you’ll create automation tools and ensure robust connectivity to exchanges with a focus on latency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting high performance applications, process monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (multicast, TCP, routing).
• Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell or Bash).
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Prior experience with FIX protocol and exchange protocols a plus.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible a plus.
• Experience with monitoring suites such as Splunk, Kibana & Grafana.
• Flexibility to work slightly varied hours as trading activity dictates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to establish best-in-class support processes for production trading technologies.
• Ensure maximum trading system availability to avoid missing opportunities.
• Provide support for trading production systems.
• Develop proprietary process automation and monitoring tools; leverage third‑party technologies as appropriate.
• Support proprietary trading systems across a multi-platform production environment (primarily Linux with some Windows).
• Troubleshoot trading system production incidents from internal or external factors.
• Automate software configuration and rollout procedures to reduce manual errors.
• Support core market connectivity and exchanges regarding trade activity and related issues.
• Collaborate with DBAs, core development, back office, QA, Infrastructure, and management during releases.
