Job summary

William Blair in Amsterdam invites a Vice President to lead our newly established European Private Capital Markets team, advising growth-stage technology companies on private capital raises. You will target, originate, and close engagements, and supervise execution end-to-end alongside senior bankers.

You will build deep relationships with founders, management teams and investors across Europe, guiding complex transactions, shaping capital structures, and mentoring junior staff while traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years at Associate level in investment banking, growth equity, venture or private capital markets.
• Experience raising private capital for growth-stage businesses.
• Passion for technology, innovation and disruptive business models.
• Experience modelling cap tables and waterfall analyses.
• Complete Level 3 FCA exams within 90 days, and SIE and Series 79 within 150 days (EU/UK).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Strong mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with senior bankers.
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
• Willingness to travel 20-40%.

Responsibilities

• Assist in targeting, origination and closing of new private capital raises.
• Pitch William Blair's Private Capital Markets capabilities to founders and investors.
• Lead and execute private capital transactions end-to-end.
• Build and maintain relationships with private capital investors.
• Suggest innovative due diligence approaches and address deal issues.
• Review analyst/associate work for accuracy and client materials.
• Provide thought leadership to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Act as on-the-job trainer for associates and analysts.
• Help build the culture and infrastructure of a new PCM team; participate in recruiting.
• Ensure activities comply with rules and procedures.
