Job description

At Orbital Eye, we help pipeline and grid operators protect critical infrastructure using satellite imagery, AI, and geospatial technology.

Our COSMIC-EYE platform continuously monitors thousands of kilometers of critical infrastructure worldwide, helping operators identify potential threats before they become incidents. As critical infrastructure becomes increasingly important to society, we believe continuous visibility is becoming essential for safer, more reliable, and more sustainable operations.

Since 2012, we have been pioneering satellite-powered infrastructure monitoring. Our team of 40+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, is scaling fast across Europe and the US, supporting operators in safeguarding the networks that keep our societies running.

We are looking for an EO Data Supply Manager to make sure our analysts and customers always have the right satellite imagery, delivered on time, and at the right quality. You'll join the Service Delivery team and work closely together with Product and Technology.

Why This Role Matters

COSMIC-EYE runs on a continuous stream of satellite imagery and geospatial data sourced from a network of external suppliers. Whether that data arrives on time, meets our quality standards, and is tracked accurately determines whether our monitoring service keeps running for every customer, every day.

Orbital Eye already operates an advanced supply tracking and data acquisition setup, automating much of the ordering, delivery, and monitoring process. Your role is to operate, improve, and further scale this system rather than manage supply through manual administration.

Our supplier landscape keeps growing more complex: more suppliers, more data sources, and more customers relying on that data being right. This role is the operational backbone that keeps that complexity from becoming a bottleneck for the team.

Your Role

As EO Data Supply Manager, you will:

Data Supply & Quality
  • Translate customer and project needs into clear data requirements and coordinate satellite imagery acquisition with suppliers.
  • Monitor data availability and delivery, select the most suitable sources based on timing, coverage, quality, and cost, and proactively resolve data supply issues and disruptions.
Supplier Management
  • Manage relationships with existing data suppliers and act as the main point of contact for operational matters.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new and alternative suppliers to improve capabilities and reduce supply risk.
Operations & Improvement
  • Work closely with analysts to support day‑to‑day data needs and ensure smooth operation, coordinating with Operations, Customer Success and Sales leads when needed.
  • Own and continuously improve our existing supply tracking, automation, dashboards, and workflows to further scale data acquisition.
Cost & Performance
  • Monitor data costs, supplier commitments, project data budgets, and fulfillment to support cost-effective sourcing decisions.
  • Contribute to Orbital Eye’s data cost and gross‑margin targets by continuously improving the cost‑effectiveness of our EO data supply.
How the Role Will Grow

Initially, your focus will be highly hands‑on: taking ownership of day‑to‑day data supply, managing orders and deliveries, resolving quality and supply issues, and building strong working relationships with the operational teams at our suppliers. You will also work closely with Finance and leadership on supplier pricing and annual commitments.

As you grow into the role, you will take increasing ownership of how we manage and optimize our EO supply. You will develop a deeper understanding of our demand, supplier performance, alternatives, supply risks, and supplier economics, helping us make the right trade‑offs between availability, quality, coverage, and cost. Over time, you will be expected to recommend supplier commitments and play a leading role in supplier negotiations together with Finance.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data operations and supply, GIS, remote sensing, or a related field. Hands‑on experience in Earth Observation projects is an advantage.
  • An engineering or software background is a plus.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to get work done efficiently and to improve existing processes.
  • Strong organizational skills, comfortable coordinating multiple suppliers, requests, and delivery timelines at once.
  • Experience with data quality control and validation processes.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable working with dashboards and data tracking/reporting tools.
  • Approachable, hands‑on, and service‑oriented, with strong communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues across different teams.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to work 3 days per week from our Delft office.
What we offer
  • A competitive salary based on your experience and background.
  • Pension, holiday allowance, paid leave, and commuting support.
  • Hybrid working and the tools you need to do your job well.
  • The opportunity to grow from hands‑on supply operations into broader ownership of our EO supply and supplier relationships.
  • Regular company and team events, from office activities and offsite team‑building to our annual company trip.
  • An international team of 40+ colleagues representing 15+ nationalities, working together to help protect critical infrastructure.
  • Work at the intersection of satellite data, AI, geospatial technology, and operational software, solving real‑world infrastructure challenges.

We are unable to provide work permit sponsorship for this role. Candidates must have an existing right to work in the Netherlands.
