Job summary

McDermott International is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to support the Mechanical discipline with routine tasks and mentorship. You will apply foundational engineering knowledge to prepare calculations, reports, and procedures within project teams.

The role emphasizes learning standards, drafting support, and collaboration across disciplines, under guidance from senior engineers. A degree in engineering and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in Oil and Gas.
• EIT or membership in a professional engineering society preferred.
• Good English in writing and speaking (B2 level).
• Quality-oriented and schedule conscious.
• Good communication skills and team player behaviour.
• Flexibility to assist colleagues and supervisors with increased workload.
• Learning content and application of standards, codes and guidelines.
• Learning design techniques and analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Mechanical engineering main duties across project stages.
• Perform detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on basic tasks.
• Complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, analyses, reports and procedures.
• Organize work to meet deadlines set by others.
• Clearly communicate information and verify understanding.
• Familiarize with quality and documentation systems.
• Specify simple equipment types by process and project requirements under lead engineer guidance.
• Apply relevant procedures, standards and international guidelines per project requirements.
• Assist other disciplines with relevant information.
• Carry out drafting activities (datasheet sketches, modifications drawings).
• Support reviews of drawings, documents and inspection/test procedures.
