Job summary

McDermott International is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer who can interpret complex engineering challenges, lead discipline teams, and deliver validated designs to schedule and budget.

You will provide technical direction, develop design basis and specifications, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure compliance with project requirements across FEED, detailed design, and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 15–20 years' oil & gas experience with major contractor or consultant.
• Professional Engineer registration or equivalent status.
• Fluent in English and strong leadership and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contractual requirements and lead discipline engineering design.
• Direct small/medium mechanical engineering teams and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare design basis, technical specifications, and reports.
• Interface with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure clash-free, compliant designs.
