Job summary

Siemens Nederland N.V. offers a 4 to 6 month HBO/WO internship in The Hague within the Cranes department.

You will analyze engineering tools used to size and select electrical drive systems and complete crane solutions for customers worldwide, proposing improvements and a roadmap for future implementation. You will work with the Technical Sales team, gathering requirements, exploring AI-assisted engineering, and developing concepts or proofs-of-concept to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and user

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or related field.
• Strong interest in technical sales engineering, automation, electrification, and industrial applications.
• Willingness to learn about motors, drive systems, and mechanical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current engineering tools used for sizing and selecting power and control systems for container crane applications.
• Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation in the sales workflow.
• Gather requirements from sales managers, engineers, and application specialists.
• Evaluate AI-assisted engineering, web apps, data analytics, and low-code platforms.
• Develop concepts, prototypes, or proofs-of-concept for improved tools.
• Test and validate improvements with end users.
• Quantify benefits like reduced engineering time and improved quotation accuracy.
• Present recommendations and a roadmap for implementation.
