Job summary

Albert Heijn seeks an Engineering Manager for the Data Management domain to lead two engineering teams (about 30 DevSecOps engineers) responsible for the Central Database and Scheduling platform across Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall.

You will champion security by design, reliability, and cost-aware operations with a focus on Azure and Oracle Cloud environments. You will partner with architecture, product, and security to deliver outcome-driven plans.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering or platform teams in a data management or infrastructure environment.
• Strong understanding of database technologies and scheduling platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Deep knowledge of reliability, operational excellence, automation, and service continuity.
• Practical experience with secure operations and data protection practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop two engineering teams (~30 DevSecOps engineers) responsible for the Central Database and Scheduling platform.
• Embed security by design across engineering practices and ensure compliance with standards.
• Drive automation, monitoring, scheduling reliability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, and security leaders to evolve the data management landscape.
• Monitor platform performance, incidents, and delivery metrics to improve team effectiveness and service stability.
