Job summary

Stoneridge is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Hardware and Software Engineering teams in developing automotive electronic systems and ECUs, ensuring quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.

You will drive cross‑functional collaboration, advance technical excellence, and ensure adherence to ISO 26262 and ASPICE while coordinating with customers, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in automotive electronics with 5+ years in leadership.
  • Strong expertise in embedded systems and ECU development.
  • Proficient in CAN, LIN, Ethernet networks.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 and cybersecurity.
  • Led complex product development from concept to production.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Hardware and Software Engineers, including hiring, performance management, coaching, succession planning, and team-building initiatives.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of automotive electronic systems and ECUs, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage project planning, resource allocation, budgets, timelines, engineering tools, and department infrastructure to support efficient product development.
  • Review and approve technical designs, engineering changes, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with functional safety, cybersecurity, and automotive industry standards.
  • Act as the key engineering representative in cross-functional teams and external interactions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, development methodologies, and tools while fostering innovation, collaboration, and agile ways of working.

Objective of the position

As Engineering Manager, you will lead the Hardware and Software Engineering teams in the development of advanced electronic systems for automotive applications, with overall responsibility for delivering high‑quality, innovative, and compliant solutions that meet vehicle performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Drive technical excellence and ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE, while fostering strong cross‑functional collaboration between Hardware, Software, and other engineering disciplines to achieve successful project outcomes.

Characterization of activities

Experience And Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive electronics, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing Hardware and Software Engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and electronic control unit (ECU) development.
  • In‑depth knowledge of automotive standards and regulations, including Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex product development projects from concept through validation, industrialization, and production launch.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to drive high‑performing engineering teams.
What We Offer

  • Full‑time employment of 40 hours per week.
  • 8% holiday allowance.
  • Travel allowance home‑work: 23ct per kilometer one way up to a maximum of 50 km.
  • CAO: Metalektro HP.
  • Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).
  • WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
  • Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full‑time).
  • ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full‑time).
