The Engineer serves as the primary technical contact for OEMs (including VW) and customers, supporting the development of new business opportunities by collaborating with clients to create filter concepts and drawing packages based on specified requirements. The role works closely with Sales Managers during sales activities, manages development projects and engineering change processes, and maintains engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle. In addition, the Engineer is responsible for acquiring and sharing technical knowledge to support innovation, overseeing the IMDS process, fulfilling Product Safety Representative (PSCR) responsibilities, implementing lessons learned, and executing engineering project activities to ensure successful product development and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary engineering contact for OEMs, including Volkswagen (VW), and customers supplying directly or indirectly to OEMs
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing customers
- Present company products, capabilities, and engineering services to customers
- Collaborate with customers to develop filter concepts and technical solutions based on requirement specifications
- Identify and support new market opportunities through innovative product and development initiatives
- Plan and conduct customer visits, technical meetings, and project reviews
- Develop filter concepts, product designs, and supporting drawing packages that meet customer requirements and business objectives
- Evaluate technical feasibility, manufacturability, performance, quality, and cost considerations
- Support start-up and new product development activities
- Assess innovative concepts and determine potential patent opportunities
- Maintain CAD systems and related engineering software to ensure effective engineering operations
Project Management
- Lead and coordinate development and engineering change projects from concept through implementation
- Develop, maintain, and update project plans, schedules, priorities, and resource requirements
- Monitor project progress, cost performance, quality metrics, and overall project KPIs
- Analyze project risks and take corrective actions when project objectives are not achieved
- Organize and participate in project meetings and ensure alignment among stakeholders
- Initiate and oversee projects to support business and customer requirements
- Manage engineering documentation throughout the complete product lifecycle
- Maintain drawings, specifications, engineering records, and technical files
- Ensure document accuracy, revision control, and compliance with internal procedures
- Review and verify engineering drawings and test reports prepared by others
Product Safety (PSCR)
- Perform duties as Product Safety and Conformity Representative (PSCR) in accordance with the management system requirements
- Participate from the initial stages of any potential product safety concern
- Review 8D reports and determine the need for PSCR intervention
- Ensure product safety risks are identified, evaluated, documented, and appropriately addressed
IMDS & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage and maintain activities related to the International Material Data System (IMDS)
- Monitor changes in IMDS requirements and coordinate implementation activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry standards
- Capture, maintain, and implement lessons learned from projects, customer feedback, and quality investigations
- Continuously expand and share technical knowledge to support product innovation and process improvement
- Recommend and implement improvements to engineering processes, products, and systems

Job requirements
- A completed technical education in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Technology at a minimum of HBO (higher professional education) level
- Knowledge of NTZ products and processes in accordance with the Knowledge & Skills matrix
- Knowledge of automotive core tools/techniques; SPC, D-FMEA, DVP&R, P-FMEA, APQP, PPAP & VDA 2, VDA 19.2, DFSS, GD&T, IMDS
- Knowledge of the assigned roles in customer portal
