Job summary

Vanderlande in the Netherlands seeks an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to own the design, integration and industrialization of high-performance electro-mechanical solutions. You will bridge hardware, software, and manufacturing, translating complex system requirements into reliable, cost-effective products from concept to launch.

You will design electro-mechanical modules and cabinets, integrate PLCs, HMIs and networks, and lead testing, validation and root-cause analyses while ensuring CE/UL

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing complex industrial electro-mechanical systems.
  • Direct experience with major industrial control platforms (e.g., AB/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, SEW).
  • Proficiency with EPLAN, Pro Panel (EPLAN 3D), and AutoCAD is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, Frequency Inverters, and HMIs.
  • Expert grasp of industrial networks (AS-Interface, Ethernet TCP/IP, ProfiNET, CAN bus, RS-485/Modbus).

Responsibilities

  • System design: develop electro-mechanical modules, UL/CE cabinets, field wiring, 2D schematics, and 3D wire harnesses.
  • Cabinet architecture: build enclosures for PLC-controlled systems, manage power distribution and motor protection.
  • Disciplinary integration: fuse hardware, software, controls, and mechanical components into robust architectures.
  • Testing and validation: define and execute functional, reliability, and acceptance testing strategies.
  • Root cause analysis: lead investigations, failure analyses, and drive preventive actions.
  • Compliance and safety: ensure designs meet CE/UL standards and Machine Directives (EN/ISO).
  • Vendor and lifecycle support: collaborate with suppliers and support manufacturing readiness.
  • Travel: occasional travel to facilities and project sites.

Electro-Mechanical engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Engineer to own the design, integration, and industrialization of high-performance electro-mechanical solutions. In this role, you will act as the vital bridge between hardware, software, and manufacturing, translating complex system requirements into reliable, cost-effective products from concept to launch

What will you do?
  • System Design: Develop electro-mechanical modules, UL/CE rated cabinets, field wiring, 2D schematics, and 3D wire harnesses.
  • Cabinet Architecture: Build enclosures for PLC-controlled systems, managing power distribution, motor protection, and industrial networking.
  • Disciplinary Integration: Fuse hardware, software, controls, and mechanical components into robust system architectures.
  • Testing & Validation: Define and execute functional, reliability, and acceptance testing strategies.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead technical investigations, failure analyses, and drive preventive engineering actions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs meet functional safety principles, CE/UL standards, and Machine Directives (EN/ISO).

  • Travel: Travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities and project sites to evaluate processes and design improvements.
What do we ask from you?
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands‑on experience developing complex industrial electro-mechanical systems.
  • Hardware Platforms: Direct experience with major industrial control platforms (e.g., A-B/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, SEW).
  • Tech Stack: Proficiency with EPlan , Pro Panel (EPLAN 3D) , and AutoCAD is highly preferred.
  • Core Components: Strong knowledge and experience with PLCs, Frequency Inverters, and HMIs.
  • Protocols: Expert grasp of industrial networks (AS- i bus, Ethernet TCP/IP, ProfiNET , CAN bus, RS-485/Modbus).
