Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to bridge technical expertise and commercial success at our Veghel headquarters. You will support the entire sales process—from identifying customer needs to delivering tailored concepts and smooth handover to project execution.

You will collaborate with the Sales Manager and Sales Engineers to craft winning proposals, lead concept development, and ensure competitive quotations that meet complex requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, logistics or related field.
• Experience with complex sales processes, ideally in automated material handling or related industry.
• Strong analytical skills to develop concept solutions from data.
• Excellent command of English, verbal and written.
• Experience in an international professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Sales Manager and Sales Engineers to identify customer needs and translate them into a successful sales concept.
• Provide solutions to complex technical and business issues through data and process analyses during the offer phase.
• Lead and coordinate development of concepts and quotations to create a competitive, high-quality proposal.
• Convert Material Flow Diagrams into layouts with a Sales Layout Engineer and translate layouts into detailed pricing specifications.
• Manage pricing specifications for multiple projects and set up procurement technical specs.
• Participate in handover to operations and project execution on-site; ensure smooth transition.
• Prepare quotations and compliance lists, expert on Key Account requirements.

For our headquarters in Veghel, we are seeking a motivated Sales Engineer, who will act as a key link between technical expertise and commercial success.

Your role

You will support the entire sales process - from identifying customer needs to developing tailored concepts and ensuring a smooth handover to project execution. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will help create competitive proposals and deliver solutions that meet complex technical and business requirements.

What you will do

• Collaborate with the Sales Manager and Sales Engineers during the project pre-contract phase to identify and analyse customer needs, translating them into a successful sales concept, and ensuring a successful project sale

• Take responsibility for providing solutions to complex technical and business issues, particularly through data and process analyses, and concept development during the offer phase, while also consulting with the client to find the best solution for their requirements

• Lead and coordinate the development of concepts and quotations within the team, ensuring the creation of a competitive and high-quality quotation

• Convert Material Flow Diagrams into layouts in cooperation with a Sales Layout Engineer and translation of layouts into detailed pricing specifications

• Manage pricing specifications for multiple projects and set up technical specifications for procurement items

• Participate in the handover phase to operations and the project implementation phase on-site, ensuring smooth transition and implementation

• Prepare quotations and compliance lists while being an expert related to Key Account-specific requirements

What you bring

• Completed a degree in mechanical engineering,
  logistics or a comparable field of study

• First experience with complex sales processes, ideally within the automated material handling industry or a related industry and a focus on carbon footprint measurement and reduction strategies

• Strong analytical skills, you can create concept solutions based on your analysis and understanding of our customers' logistic processes

• Well-developed influencing skills, both internal and external;

• Strong communicational skills, you have a creative and efficient approach to building professional client relationships

• Experience in working within an international professional environment, preferably a project-driven organization

• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written, as well as willingness to travel up to 30%.

• Salary:€ 4.900 to € 5.900 gross per month on a full-time basis (40 hours per week), excluding an 8% holiday allowance paid out annually. As you grow in the role and deliver results, there is room to move beyond this range.

• 40 vacation days per year (full-time): 20 statutory days plus a flexible budget of 20 more. Plenty of space to rest, travel, and recharge. Accrued pro-rata for part-time.
