Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Team Lead Credit Risk EMEA based in Amsterdam to lead a high-performing risk team. You will protect the portfolio from chargebacks, insolvency, and fraud while coordinating with regional hubs in Chicago and Singapore.

You will mentor risk professionals, optimize processes, and collaborate with Commercial, Product, and Legal to align risk decisions with growth. This is a senior, international role requiring strategic thinking and communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years people leadership experience in risk or operations within payments or banking sectors.
• Strong background in merchant acquiring risk, chargeback management, and card scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
• Proven ability to analyze data, spot trends, and build scalable risk processes.
• Experience collaborating with product, legal, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale the Amsterdam-based risk team.
• Oversee monitoring and mitigation of credit, acquiring, and chargeback risks across EMEA.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Product, and Legal to balance growth with risk control.
• Design and execute scalable, data-driven risk workflows to improve efficiency.
• Act as escalation point for high-exposure risk cases and merchant performance shifts.
• Set objectives, track performance, and report risk metrics to Senior Leadership.
