Job summary

Merit Maastricht, The Netherlands, is seeking a senior compliance leader to oversee the Corporate Compliance Program and lead the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in compliance efforts. The role supports the Chief Compliance Officer, drives testing, audits, and policy improvement, and ensures adherence to GDPR and global anti-corruption standards.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Law, or related field.
Seven years of compliance, regulatory or quality experience in a healthcare organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Understanding of EU Healthcare regulations and pertinent laws governing medical products.
Understanding of GDPR regulations and privacy practices.
Understanding of anti-corruption laws (FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc.).
Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance and HR procedures.

Responsibilities

Leads Merit’s Compliance Program in the EMEA region and supervises its regional team.
Provides compliance support for high-risk projects and mitigates risk.
Develops testing methodologies, including auditing and monitoring of compliance areas.
Assists investigations of hotline complaints.
Documents findings and creates corrective action plans for regulatory compliance.
Creates and enhances regional policies and procedures for ongoing improvement.
Oversees compliance training for employees, distributors and third parties.
Maintains onboarding due diligence for international distributors and privacy programs per GDPR.
