Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking an Embedded Vision Engineer for Poultry Innovation in Boxmeer. You will develop and optimize embedded vision platforms, integrate cameras and AI workloads, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, real‑time inspection systems for the poultry industry.

You will work on Linux-based ARM platforms, using C++ and Python, with Docker, CI/CD, and Triton Inference Server to enable scalable, reliable deployment in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, machine vision, or industrial automation environments.
• Strong experience with Embedded Linux and ARM-based platforms.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python software development.
• Experience integrating industrial cameras, image acquisition systems, and vision hardware.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software development methodologies.
• Experience deploying or supporting AI inference frameworks, preferably Triton Inference Server.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to troubleshoot multidisciplinary systems.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on when needed.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain embedded vision systems on Linux-based ARM platforms.
• Design scalable and reliable vision system architectures for next‑gen poultry processing equipment.
• Integrate cameras, sensors, and illumination for high‑speed image acquisition and analysis.
• Optimize performance for real‑time processing and throughput in industrial environments.
• Develop and optimize software components in C++ and Python for image processing and control.
• Build containerized vision applications using Docker for scalable deployment.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to support rapid software delivery.
• Deploy AI inference workloads using Triton Inference Server for real‑time decisions on embedded hardware.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor junior engineers; contribute to technology roadmap.
