Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Process Technologist (Vision Specialist) in the Netherlands to bridge Service, Development, and Sales. You will be trained as a Vision Specialist and manage a Poultry product portfolio with a focus on vision-based solutions, AI, and data-driven improvements.

The role requires a mechatronics background, strong communication in Dutch and English, and willingness to travel ~50% internationally.

Qualifications

• Completed BSc in Mechatronics.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar position or related industry.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% internationally.
• Interest in vision technology, machine vision, image processing, and AI.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert for vision-based technologies within the Poultry industry.
• Support development, validation, and optimization of vision solutions in our portfolio and future applications.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues related to vision systems and image processing.
• Advise customers on process optimization using vision-based technologies.
• Transfer knowledge and provide training to Field Service Engineers, Technical Support, Service, and Sales teams.
• Act as the technical link between Service, Development, Innovation, and Sales.
• Contribute to the vision technology roadmap and evaluate new developments in machine vision and AI.

Job description

As a Process Technologist (Vision Specialist), you are the link between the Service, Development, and Sales departments. Technique and Technology are the most important aspects of this position. You will be trained as a Vision Specialist and will be responsible for managing a specific product portfolio within the Poultry industry. We are specifically looking for a professional with a strong mechatronics background and a keen interest in vision technology and data-driven solutions. As vision-based applications are becoming increasingly important within our portfolio, interest in machine vision, camera systems, image processing, and related technologies is essential. Knowledge of and interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, including their application in vision-based systems, is considered a strong advantage. In this specialization, you are the knowledge provider and the go-to person for both our customers worldwide and our internal organization. As the Process Technologist is the link between Service, Innovation, and Sales, he/she plays a key role in the successful implementation, optimization, and adoption of vision-based technologies and solutions and future vision applications.

Tasks and activities:

• Act as the subject matter expert for vision-based technologies within the Poultry industry.
• Support the development, validation, and optimization of vision solutions currently in our portfolio, and future applications.

• Advise customers on process optimization and the application of vision-based technologies.
• Transfer knowledge and provide training to Field Service Engineers, Technical Support, Service, and Sales teams.

• Collect and share technical and application knowledge related to vision technologies.
• Contribute to the vision technology roadmap and evaluate new developments in machine vision and AI.

About you: You have a strong analytical mind, perseverance, a commercial and innovative attitude and above all a real entrepreneurial spirit. You like to travel and to build strong relationships with our customers. You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English both spoken and written.

To be successful in this position, you must have:

• A completed BSc in Mechatronics.
• A few years of work experience in a similar position or within a related industry is an advantage of a minimum of 3 years.
• You would like to develop as a technical specialist and propagate this in your work.
• You are willing to travel +/- 50% internationally.
• Must have relevant EU travel and work documents and driver license.
