Payter is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software for our payment terminals. You will translate requirements into clear designs and collaborate with hardware engineers to build scalable platforms that power millions of transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of C and Android; Java is a plus.
• Experience developing embedded applications and drivers across various platforms.
• Extensive collaboration with hardware engineers throughout platform development.
• Proficiency in version control and release management practices.
• Independent, proactive mindset with creative problem-solving.
• Nice to have knowledge of GPRS, contactless apps, or mobile app development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality embedded software and drivers for payment terminals across multiple platforms.
• Translate customer and business requirements into robust functional designs.
• Set up and maintain development and build environments to optimize engineering workflows.
• Evaluate and adopt new development tooling to improve software processes.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to build scalable platforms and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, including third‑party vendor work.
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
