Job summary

TrellisWare is establishing an engineering hub in Utrecht and seeks Embedded Software Engineers to help shape the next generation of their platform software. You’ll work on BSPs, HALs, and low-level embedded Linux/RTOS development, contributing to hardware bring-up and system integration in a hybrid Utrecht setup.

Ideal candidates have strong C and C++, Python, experience with Yocto or similar builds, and a passion for reliable software in demanding environments across government and commercial

Qualifications

• Experience in low-level embedded software development
• Strong C and C++ programming skills
• Familiarity with Python scripting for tooling
• Experience with Embedded Linux and RTOS
• Knowledge of Yocto or similar embedded build systems

Their software runs on hundreds of thousands of deployed devices, delivering reliable performance in some of the most demanding environments imaginable.

About the Role

As TrellisWare continues its expansion across Europe, they're investing in a brand-new engineering hub in Utrecht and are looking for talented Embedded Software Engineers to help shape the next generation of their platform software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs)
• Build low-level platform software for Embedded Linux and RTOS-based systems
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging and system integration
• Optimise software performance, reliability and stability
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware and software
• Contribute to technologies deployed at scale in demanding operational environments

Skills

You’ll ideally have experience with:

• C and C++
• Python
• Embedded Linux and/or RTOS development
• BSP, HAL or other low-level embedded software development
• Yocto or similar embedded Linux build systems

Location:

Utrecht, Netherlands Hybrid working with 2–3 days per week in the office
