Job summary

Vydar is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize software for resource-constrained platforms used in defense applications. You will work with a compact team on missile platforms, UAVs, drones, and sensing networks, emphasizing low-level development and real-time performance.

You will collaborate with the founding team and partners to bring solutions from lab to field deployments, contributing across firmware, OS, and application layers while debugging complex

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or Computer Engineering.
• MSc preferred, BSc considered with relevant experience.
• Strong experience with embedded C, Rust or C++.
• Understanding of real-time systems and concurrency.
• Ability to debug complex system-level issues independently.
• Good communication in English (Dutch is a plus).
• NATO-friendly citizenship or valid EU work permit.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for resource-constrained systems.

Job description

As a Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and scaling Vydar's next-generation defence technology. You will work closely with our founding team and technical partners to bring our solutions from lab to field deployment.You will develop embedded software for constrained hardware and AI edge computing devices used in defense applications. This includes systems for missile platforms, UAVs, drones, and distributed sensing networks. The role combines low-level embedded development, system architecture, and hands-on testing in real-world environments.You will join a team of 7 to 10 highly skilled engineers with backgrounds in aerospace, microelectronics, embedded hardware and software, and machine vision.
