Job summary

Sioux in the Netherlands is seeking an Embedded Software Designer to develop and test software for high-tech products. You will work from Mijdrecht and on client sites across the Randstad, delivering reliable, safe, and scalable embedded solutions.

You will dive into bare-metal and embedded Linux, implementing state machines, real-time logic, and protocols like UART, SPI, CAN, and I2C, while adhering to safety standards and coding guidelines. Flexible hours and remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering or embedded systems.
• 5 years of hands-on embedded C/C++ development.
• Experience with real-time OS and safety-critical software.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C).

As an Embedded Software Designer, you develop and test software for high-tech products and machines.

In this role, you support our clients in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment industries mainly in the Randstad area with smart, sustainable, and reliable software solutions. Your software expertise plays a crucial role in bringing these high-tech solutions to life.

• Develop bare-metal embedded software in C and C++
• Create automated tests in Python
• Work with real-time OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux
• Design and implement state machines and real-time logic
• Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, I2C
• Apply Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508, SIL) and MISRA coding guidelines
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and technical excellence

This is what you bring to the table

• A Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
• 5 year experience Hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ software development
• A strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software
• A passion for code quality, performance, and safety
• Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C)
• Curiosity about new technologies and tools
• Fluent in English and Dutch
