Job summary

Sioux is seeking an experienced Software Designer (C#, C++, Java) to translate customer needs into robust designs and to guide a development team from office in Mijdrecht and client sites. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, improving quality, scalability and maintainability of high-tech projects.

You bring 7+ years in technical software development, strong multi-language skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, software engineering, or computer engineering.
• 7+ years of technical software development experience.
• 4–5 years in domains such as Semicon, Medical, or Analytical.
• Experience with two of C#, C++, Java.
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, UML, and Agile.
• Ability to coach junior engineers.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Valid European driver's license and willingness to travel.

As a Software Designer C#/C++/JAVA, you develop software for high-tech products and machines.

In this role, you support our customers in the semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, and medical equipment industries, within the triangle of Nijmegen, Enschede, and Zwolle, by delivering smart, sustainable, and reliable software solutions. Your software expertise plays an essential role in bringing these high-tech solutions to life.

As a Software Designer, you contribute to defining requirements and you are responsible for translating them into robust software designs, ensuring high-quality implementation and seamless integration. From our office in Mijdrecht and at our clients' premises you work on challenging projects that take technology to the next level. You are the expert who designs, develops, and tests, but also likes to think along, connect, and contribute to team results, and who likes to:

• Translating customer and system requirements into innovative, clear, and feasible concepts during the conceptual phase of projects.
• Acting as a bridge between architects and engineers from a technical perspective.
• Taking responsibility for a module/subsystem throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Ensuring software quality, scalability and maintainability through sound engineering practices.
• Applying strong communication skills to effectively guide and mentor a team of engineers, helping them grow and deliver high-quality results.

This is what you bring to the table

• You have a technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• You have 7+ years of experience in technical software development, gained in various roles and across diverse product environments and/or projects.
• Over the past 4–5 years, you have worked within technical domains such as Semicon, Medical, or Analytical.
• You have experience with at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, or Java.
• You have knowledge of and/or experience with various development methodologies and techniques such as Design Patterns, UML, and Agile, and you keep your technical expertise up to date. You are looking for an environment where you can apply these developments in practice as well.
• Based on your experience, you are able to coach junior engineers.
• You are a team player and keep the common goal in mind.
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• You hold a valid European driver’s license and are willing to travel.
