Job summary

YachtControl in Hattem, Netherlands, seeks an experienced hardware/software engineer to develop embedded electronics and firmware in C/C++. You will work on maritime projects in a small team, report design work, and help create manuals for luxury yachts.

Responsibilities include PCB development, building test setups, assembling and testing boards (hand soldering when needed), and validating systems aboard a yacht.

Qualifications

• Several years of engineering experience
• HBO level education in electrical engineering preferred
• Knowledge of CAN bus, NMEA 2000, Modbus and RS485
• Experience with PCB layout tools
• Soldering experience or willingness to learn
• Affinity for luxury yacht building

Responsibilities

• Develop PCBs for new and existing products as part of a team
• Develop test setups and perform tests to support design decisions
• Assemble and test PCBs (hand soldering when needed)
• Report design work and create manuals
• Test PCBs, possibly in simulation and aboard a yacht
