Job summary

Prodrive Technologies seeks an Electrical Safety Engineer to design and improve safety architecture for production and test systems. You will translate standards into robust, maintainable designs and work with software and mechanical engineers to ensure safe daily operation on the production floor.

The role requires a Bachelor degree with 2+ years in electrical engineering or related fields, a methodical approach, and strong English communication in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, machine building, industrial automation, power cabinets or test systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret and develop electrical schematics across multiple voltage domains.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety principles, grounding, protective earth and low-voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with standards and directives such as IEC 61010-1, IEC 60204-1, ISO 12100 and the Low Voltage Directive.
  • Structured and thorough work style with attention to detail; translate requirements into practical solutions.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical and compliance documentation.
  • Eager to learn, take ownership, and communicate in English within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Review and improve existing test systems for safety and maintainability.
  • Support verification, validation and documentation against EMC, safety, and machine directives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and production stakeholders during development and implementation.
  • Contribute to reusable design principles and continuous improvement in Production Engineering.

As an Electrical Safety Engineer within Production Engineering, you will design and improve the electrical safety architecture of production and test systems. Your focus will include circuits that safely disable hazardous voltages when a Device Under Test (DUT) is connected or disconnected, as well as grounding, earth bonding and electrical protection concepts. You will translate applicable standard\s and risk assessments into practical, robust and maintainable designs. Working closely with software and mechanical engineers, you will help ensure that our equipment is safe, reliable and suitable for daily use in production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical schematics and safety functions for production and test systems.
  • Develop solutions that safely disable hazardous voltages when a DUT is connected, disconnected or accessed.
