Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide escort support for third-party personnel on site and monitor activities.
• Perform rounds, assessments, and data-logging with supervision.
• Monitor maintenance and operation of equipment within the data center.
• Assist in emergency monitoring and response using EOPs.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and security policies complied with.
• Record daily readings of electrical equipment during rounds.
• Follow SOPs for critical environment tasks and energize cabinets in colo.
• Support UPS preventative maintenance and battery checks.
• Assist with troubleshooting, calibration, and sensor replacement.
• Support electrical infrastructures across the data center campus and EPMS systems.

Job Description:

• Provides escort support for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site.
• Works on tasks (e.g., making rounds, initial assessments on equipment performance) as assigned with supervision.
• Perform basic monitoring of the performance of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) within the data center with supervision
• Safely assists in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
• Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities
• Energize a cabinet in a Colo
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) preventative maintenance quarterly and annually
• Battery preventative maintenance
• Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
• Assist in the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration.
• Support electrical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus ranging from a single, large-capacity facility to several smaller ones
• Experience with building management systems (EPMS)
• Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdown of 1 source. Critical Load is still supplied through one source ("N").
• PDU shutdown for power meter replacement.
