Job summary

Equinix is seeking a dedicated Critical Facility Engineer to maintain and operate electrical, mechanical and security systems in our data centers. You will ensure preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage work orders within Maximo to uphold high availability.

You will analyze issues, propose improvements, and support new installations while training colleagues and maintaining a strong commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum completed MBO education or equivalent.
• Electrical or mechanical bias.
• Experience as maintenance technician, facility manager, or service engineer.
• English proficiency required; Dutch preferred.
• Willingness to work on-call shifts.
• Experience in project management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor electrical, mechanical, security systems in data centers.
• Monitor alarms and respond to notifications.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Analyze failures and propose improvements.
• Document work orders in Maximo.
• Coordinate work with subcontractors.
• Provide status reports to the Technical Facility Manager.
• Train new employees and share knowledge within the CFE team.
• Support new installations.
• Ensure procedures are followed to achieve the highest level of service.
