Job summary

Lighthouse Reports invites an experienced editor to lead the climate and environment coverage program, setting clear strategy, maintaining a viable pipeline of ideas, meeting production targets, managing budgets and reporters, partnerships and projects. You will curate topics and nurture where landing space is for brilliant investigative ideas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a newsroom with at least two years of experience managing journalists and editing a variety of story formats.
• Experience in collaborative journalism and investigative project management.
• A track record of publishing stories or coverage across a range of news platforms and formats.
• Commitment to bringing investigative reporting to creators, strategic audiences and nontraditional formats.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team of reporters and editors, setting strategy for the climate and environment program.
• Manage budgets, and reporters, partnerships and projects; curate relevant topics.
• Build collaborative coalitions and work across the world on high-impact stories.
• Editorial lead on coalitions and coach journalists through pitching, reporting, writing, editing and production.
