Job summary

Moxy and Residence Inn Houthavens Amsterdam is offering an internship for a Duty Trainee who will support all hotel departments and learn to manage guest relations across front office, F&B and housekeeping.

You are eager to learn, fluent in English, with Dutch as a bonus, and enrolled in a relevant HBO hotel/facility/tourism program. Expect weekend work and opportunities to grow within the Vertiq portfolio.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Currently pursuing a relevant HBO study in hotel, facility, or tourism.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all hotel departments (front office, F&B, housekeeping, etc.).
• Present yourself as a manager to guests when needed.
• Learn to handle guest requests or complaints effectively.
• Make quick, good decisions when problems arise.
• Gain knowledge about hotel operations and emergency procedures.
• Perform quality rounds and brand audits.
• Check rooms for external cleaning company compliance.
• Handle orders and participate in other projects.
• Work early and late shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Our Duty Trainee is someone who can do it all and is not afraid to get his/her hands dirty or shy away from a challenge. You must be familiar with the company, equipment and emergency procedures. As a Duty Trainee, you have a good knowledge of all operational departments and are happy to help them in times of need! Complaints are a challenge for you because you are an excellent problem solver with a sense of humor and can turn any complaint or issue into a brilliant and spirited experience!

What You Will Do During This Internship

• You will assist in all departments (front office, F&B, housekeeping etc.).
• You will be able to present yourself as a manager to the guests of the hotel.
• You will learn to deal with guest requests or complaints.
• A duty manager intern is expected to make the right decisions the moment a problem arises.
• You will gain knowledge about the hotel and what to do in emergency situations.
• You do quality rounds and Brand audit checks.
• You will check rooms to verify the outside cleaning company.
