Job summary

The Mandarin Oriental in Amsterdam is seeking a Duty Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will be responsible for resolving technical failures, ensuring guest comfort, and supporting ongoing renovation efforts.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hotels, with fundamental knowledge of electrical installations and plumbing. The position offers excellent career progression, learning opportunities, and a range of benefits.

Job description

Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium is looking for a Duty Engineer to join our Engineering team.

Mandarin Oriental is the award‑winning owner and operator of some of the most luxurious hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Resolve technical failures, replace faulty parts and perform complete technical inspections within the hotel.
  • Directly help hotel guests, addressing their technical concerns promptly and ensuring their comfort.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing problems, repair kitchen equipment, manage various installations and maintain lighting systems.
  • Support ongoing renovation efforts, collaborating with third‑party companies for major repairs and conducting preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of work experience in a similar role (preferably in hotels).
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical installations and plumbing.
  • Ability to work independently and learn on the job.
  • A good level of English.
  • Flexibility to work shifts during both days and evenings, on weekdays and weekends.
