A Japanese manufacturer in Schiedam is seeking a HR Specialist to manage HR functions, including employee relations, expats support, payroll support, recruitment, and training.

The role requires business level Dutch and English proficiency.

TYPE: Starts with 7-12 months fixed-term contract, with the aim for long-term employment

WORKING HOURS: 8:30 – 17:00 (30 minutes lunch break), 32-40h per week

SALARY: €60,000 - €80,000 per year Gross, including the holiday allowance and 13th month salary

START: ASAP

LOCATION: Schiedam, the Netherlands (1 day WFH)

Dutch-speaking HR/GA Specialist Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
2. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
3. Manage the recruitment and selection process when necessary
4. Manage expat visa applications, 30% ruling and assist with expat integration
5. Payroll support for Netherlands, United Kingdom, France and Poland
6. Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization such as employee handbook.
7. Nurture a positive working environment
8. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
9. Illness administration
10. Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
11. Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics

Dutch-speaking HR/GA Specialist Candidate:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. About 5 years of experience in human resources or related roles.
3. Business level Dutch and English proficiency.
4. Strong knowledge of Dutch labour laws and HR best practices.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
7. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
8. Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
