Job summary

TNO invites Master’s students to join an internship focused on learning to chase objects with a drone using vision-language-action models in simulated environments. You will work with researchers on autonomous drones, with an emphasis on planning, perception, and learning from demonstrations.

The role blends simulation, robotics, and modern AI, offering hands-on software development, training experiments, and opportunities to contribute to publishable results within a collaborative research

Qualifications

• This internship targets a Master's student with a solid ML foundation and interest in computer vision & autonomous systems.
• Strong Python skills are important; PyTorch experience is a real plus.
• Experience with simulation environments or reinforcement/imitation learning is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up a simulated environment (e.g., Isaac Sim or AirSim) with a drone and a car on a curved road.
• Build or configure a planner that uses 3D scene knowledge to compute chase trajectories.
• Train and evaluate a vision-language-action model using only camera inputs.
