Job description

As we continue to expand Europe's largest public charging network for heavy-duty electric vehicles, we are looking for a Domain Lead - Charging Technology to define how charging technology scales across Milence's network and help shape the future of truck charging. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology professional who combines deep charging technology expertise with strategic thinking, operational awareness, commercial understanding, and a passion for turning innovative ideas into reliable and scalable solutions.

In this role, you will work at the heart of Milence's technology ecosystem, helping to define how charging technology evolves to meet the needs of customers, vehicle manufacturers, operations teams, and the rapidly changing e-mobility landscape. You will translate emerging technologies, industry standards, operational insights, and market developments into a clear technology roadmap that supports Milence's growth ambitions, reliability targets, and long-term strategy.

Reporting to the Technology Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and advancing Milence's charging technology domain. You will bring deep expertise while working closely with colleagues, suppliers, OEMs, and industry stakeholders to ensure our charging solutions remain reliable, scalable, interoperable, and future-ready.

For someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working across disciplines, and building capabilities that directly contribute to the energy transition, this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the charging backbone of sustainable heavy-duty transport.

What You Will Do
  • Define, maintain, and communicate the charging technology vision, strategy, and roadmap, translating business objectives into clear technical and delivery priorities.
  • Lead the development and evolution of Milence's high-power charging technology domain, including CCS, MCS, charger architecture, interoperability, charging performance, root cause analysis, and lifecycle development.
  • Translate customer, operational, and business requirements into practical technical solutions and development priorities.
  • Lead charging technology programs from concept through deployment and continuous improvement, ensuring effective validation, operational readiness, and long-term reliability.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, industry developments, standards, and market opportunities to support future innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across Product Management, Site Delivery, Operations, Asset Management, Digital, Procurement, HSSEQ, Finance, and Commercial.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers, OEMs, industry partners, and standardization bodies to shape technology development, align roadmaps, and support Milence's long-term ambitions.
  • Establish and monitor performance indicators focused on reliability, interoperability, availability, charging performance, and operational learning.
  • Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and learning across the charging technology lifecycle.
Who Are We Looking For?
  • You bring strong technical expertise and can create clarity in complex discussions, build alignment among stakeholders, and translate emerging challenges into practical solutions in a rapidly growing environment.
  • You hold a master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • You bring a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience within EV charging, e-mobility, high-power charging, power electronics, electrical infrastructure, automotive systems, or related technology sectors.
  • You have proven experience leading complex technology, infrastructure, validation, or integration programs.
  • You have experience working with international suppliers, OEMs, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • You have experience operating in a fast-growing and innovative environment.
  • You have deep knowledge of high-power EV charging technologies and charging systems.
  • You have a strong understanding of the charging ecosystem, charger architecture, charging protocols, interoperability, diagnostics, reliability, and lifecycle management.
  • You have knowledge of relevant standards, protocols, and regulations including IEC 61851, ISO 15118, OCPP, OCPI, electrical safety requirements, and cybersecurity interfaces.
  • You can translate strategic objectives into clear technical roadmaps, requirements, validation plans, and delivery outcomes.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities supported by data-driven decision-making.
  • You combine strategic thinking with the ability to turn ideas into practical and sustainable outcomes.
  • You build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and are skilled at bringing stakeholders together around shared goals.
  • You communicate complex technical topics clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You are curious, continuously learning, and interested in exploring new technologies, data-driven methods, and AI-enabled ways of working to improve how technology decisions are made and implemented.
