Operational Supply Chain Leader Fashion | Amsterdam |
Hybrid (60% in the office)
About our client
Our client is an Amsterdam-based menswear brand dedicated to creating the perfect shorts, trousers and tops. A Certified B Corporation, it has grown since 2016 into a team of 300+ people from 40+ nationalities. With a strong online presence across Europe, the brand is now expanding its international retail network in cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and London. Slow fashion, timeless design and craftsmanship are at the centre of everything it does.
The role
As the brand grows across Europe,more and morecustomers want its shorts, trousers and tops. We are looking for a Director of Buying & Planning, an Operational Supply Chain Leader Fashion who makes sure the right product is in the right place at the right time. You shape the strategy, you enjoy getting into the details, and you build the structure that lets the brand scale.
What you’ll do
- Turn ambition into a plan:translate financial goals into detailed demand plans and build accurate bottom-up forecasts based on assortment and sales data.
- Own production planning:be the main point of contact for manufacturing partners. Manage production timelines, make the most of factory capacity, and make sure goods arrive on time to meet demand.
- Negotiate with impact:lead procurement from start to finish. Negotiate prices, terms and contracts with finished-goods factories and raw material suppliers to protect margins without compromising on quality.
- Lead merchandising:guide and grow the merchandising team. Oversee product allocation, inventory flow and lifecycle management across all sales channels, online and in stores.
- Build for scale:bring structure where it’s missing. When a process, tool or habit keeps getting in the way, you fix it rather than work around it.
The ideal profile
- leads a team that makes the right product available at the right time each season, in line with management KPIs, and does so at scale (millions of SKUs per year);
- maintains strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders;
- advises management with data-driven proposals on growth, supply chain strategy, end-to-end planning, inventory risk and P&Loptimisation;
- has implemented processes and systems such as IBP/IDP, a forecasting tool andorganisation-wide inventory visibility;
