Job summary

Karsten International is seeking a Buying Assistant to support the buyer in product development and market research in an international environment. You will help with trend watching, market research and identifying white spots within product categories, forming a team with category buyers and the project manager buying.

You will coordinate sampling, price calculations, and administrative tasks to relieve the buyer and bring products to market, while demonstrating affinity with retail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience and willingness to learn.
• Completed MBO or HBO education in purchasing and/or administration.
• Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• Excellent knowledge and command of Microsoft Office; advanced in Excel.
• Reliable, accurate and good administrative skills.
• Affinity with retail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and label incoming and outgoing product samples.
• Order market references.
• Conduct market research, trend watching and comparisons.
• Make price calculations for sales quotations.
• Test incoming product samples.
• Support buyer with trips, PowerPoints, and sample management.

32 - 40 hours per week

As an buying assistantyou will help with the development of cool products and offer support to the buyer in every area. This can be trend watching, doing market research and help finding white spots within specific product categories. You willform a team with our category buyers and project manager buying and givesupport in the process of bringing products to the market.

Your tasks will further consist of:

• Coordinate and label incoming and outgoing product samples.

• Ordering market references.

• Market research, trend watching and making comparisons.

• Making price calculations for sales quotations.

• Testing of incoming product samples.

• Other supportive andadministrative tasks to relieve the buyer, such as booking trips, making PowerPoints, managing samples etc..

Your talents:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience and willingness to learn.

• Completed MBO or HBO education in purchasing and/or administration.

• Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.

• Excellent knowledge and command of Microsoft Office; advanced in the use of Excel.

• Reliable, accurate and good administrative skills.

• You have an affinity with retail.
