Job summary

World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Amsterdam is seeking a senior leader to steer emissions assessment and a flagship reporting program. You will guide how quickly member companies reduce emissions and identify barriers to progress, while coordinating across value chain decarbonization initiatives and external partnerships.

You will oversee strategy, budgets, governance, and cross-functional teams, ensuring credible insights, rigorous data, and actionable

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience in corporate climate action and decarbonization.
• Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs end to end.
• Strong analytical ability to combine quantitative and qualitative evidence.
• Excellent written and spoken communication for senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy, scope, budget, and governance for the emissions report and value chain portfolio.
• Lead rigorous assessment of emissions progress and actions behind targets.
• Coordinate with Policy & Insights on the Business Breakthrough Barometer to maintain consistency.
• Commission and deliver a flagship report with clear narrative and practical recommendations.
• Drive member engagement before publication and turning findings into action afterward.
• Promote the report externally and collaborate with partners to extend reach.
• Direct the value chain project portfolio and oversee supplier decarbonization efforts.
• Lead a team of senior managers across electrification, transport, built environment, and supply chain.
• Build an advisory group of senior member companies to steer priorities.
