Job summary

Itproposal in Amsterdam is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Development Tooling team. You will contribute to CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and development tooling across multiple regions, delivering scalable, automated solutions and robust pipelines.

The role combines hands-on coding (Python, JavaScript), containerization with Docker, and GenAI‑driven automation. It is a 6‑month contract with partial remote work (2 days onsite, 3 days WFH) starting 01 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years IT experience.
• Strong CI/CD fundamentals and Azure DevOps experience.
• Hands-on Python or other OO language experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain tooling across the SDLC (pipelines, backlog management, security scanning, artifact repositories).
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipeline templates and automation solutions.
• Handle operational responsibilities including patching and administrative tasks.
• Build and maintain applications (Java, Vue, Python) using Maven, NPM, and Poetry within Azure DevOps.
• Work with Docker for containerization and build processes.
• Apply GenAI tooling to improve developer experience and accelerate automation.
• Collaborate with other DevOps teams for seamless integration.
• Maintain a customer-centric path to production.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join the Development Tooling department—an IT for IT organization supporting development teams across the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UK, and India. Our mission is to provide developers with a compliant, low‑complexity path to production through high‑quality tooling, automation, and platform services.

You will work within one of eight DevOps teams (SOLO, PIPE, ADOPT, BB8, etc.), each responsible for a specific part of the software development lifecycle. Teams deliver and maintain services such as CI/CD pipeline templates, pipeline agents, backlog management, security scanning, artifact repositories, and more. As a DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to both development and operational responsibilities, ensuring stable, scalable, and developer‑friendly tooling.

This role is ideal for someone with strong CI/CD fundamentals, hands‑on Azure DevOps experience, and a proactive, automation‑driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development teams by delivering and maintaining tooling across the SDLC (pipelines, backlog management, security scanning, artifact repositories).

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles (stages, best practices, pipelines, tooling).
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps.
• Experience with at least one object‑oriented programming language (Python preferred).
• Experience building applications using:

  • NPM (Vue)
  • Poetry (Python)
• Understanding of Docker and container build processes.
• Familiarity with GenAI tooling and eagerness to apply it in automation.
