Job summary

MAMA MAKAN, a pastry-focused restaurant in Amsterdam East inside the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam, is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie. You will craft beautiful pastries and desserts, supervise the pastry team, and contribute to daily baking operations with passion and creativity.

We value a year or more of pastry experience, a Culinary Arts or Pastry diploma, HACCP know-how, and a proactive, international mindset. English is essential; Dutch is a plus. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in pastry as a Demi Chef, ideally in a hotel.
• Diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry production or equivalent on-the-job training.
• HACCP is part of your core approach to pastry safety and quality.
• Creative, motivated, hands-on and internationally minded.
• Good English language skills; Dutch is a plus.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends or holidays.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands (EU/EEA passport or valid permit).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finish pastries and desserts for service.
• Supervise and mentor the pastry team, while contributing hands-on in production.
• Collaborate on menu ideas and pastry offerings; maintain HACCP standards.

Someone who is a natural junior leader, who loves pastry and everything that revolves around baking. The Demi Chef de Partie is a true team player who creates beautiful and delicious pastries for our MAMA MAKAN guests.

• You have 1 years+ experience in Pastry as a Demi Chef, ideally at a Hotel;
• You have a diploma in Culinary Arts / Pastry production, or equivalent on-the-job training;
• 'HACCP' is your middle name;
• You have creativity, motivation and a hands-on mentality;
• You have an international state of mind;
• You have good language and communication skills in English and preferably in Dutch as well;
• You have a flexible schedule, able to work in evenings, weekends and/or holidays as needed;
• You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit for the country (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).
