Job summary

Hyatt Regency Amsterdam is seeking a passionate bartender to work at the MAMA MAKAN outlet, bringing a personal touch to the guest experience at the bar with a love for wine, spirits, cocktails, and all aspects of bartending.

The ideal candidate is multi-tasking, flexible, and customer-centric, able to deliver exceptional service, upsell, and follow recipes. English is essential; Dutch is a plus; HACCP knowledge valued; full-time schedule offered with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of F&B experience, preferably at a high-end bar in a hotel.
• Proficiency in cocktail preparation, wine service, and barista skills.
• Passionate about working behind the bar and showcasing skills with personal flair.
• Knowledge of HACCP.
• Full-time availability and flexibility to work a varying schedule.
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands with an EU/EEA passport or valid work permit (no visa assistance offered)

Responsibilities

• Familiar with all food and beverage items on the outlet menu
• Deliver exceptional, friendly, courteous, and professional guest service at all times
• Take beverage orders from guests and upsell where possible
• Prepare and serve beverages according to established standards and service sequence
• Follow standard recipes and minimize waste to keep beverage cost in line with budget
• Be flexible and meet special guest requests for specific preparation methods and ingredients
• Order beverage ingredients based on par stocks and management requirements
• Use the outlet point-of-sales system, ensuring all sales are properly recorded and following correct procedures for ordering, voiding or correcting items
• Complete opening and closing duties as assigned
• Handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries courteously and efficiently, following through to ensure resolution
• Treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage
• Assist in inventory-taking as required and resolve any discrepancies in beverage inventory
