Job summary

TNO in the Netherlands seeks a network professional to manage and further develop specialized experimental and communication networks used for defence research, international exercises, and interoperability. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network & Security Engineering, Information Science, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in network administration or network engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, routing, and networking protocols.
• Excellent command of the English language for international collaboration.
• A valid Category B driving licence.
• Hands-on mindset for investigating technical challenges and finding practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and further develop network environments.
• Work with IPv4/IPv6, routing, Cisco solutions, and cybersecurity.
• Translate researchers' requirements into functional lab networks.
• Ensure networks are available and secure for experiments and exercises.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Dutch and international defence and security experts.
• Manage accreditation processes for experiments and locations with security authorities.
• Serve as the primary contact for users of your network environments.
• Occasionally participate in an on-call duty roster during evenings or weekends.
