Job summary

TNO is seeking a talented, research-driven software engineer to join the JROADS team in the Defence domain, developing a Java-based simulation tool. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts to model complex systems, enhance sub-models, and support analyses and experiments used by defence operators and decision-makers.

You bring a MSc in a technical field, strong Java skills (C/C++ a plus), and fluent Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in a technical or scientific discipline with relevant specialization.
• Experience with Java, and ideally with C++ or C#.
• Fluent Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enhances a Java-based simulation application in a multidisciplinary team.
• Models, simulates, and analyzes systems across land, maritime and air domains for defence.
• Translates scientific concepts into practical software solutions and contributes to tests and evaluations.
