Job summary

Genmab is seeking a Data Scientist in Utrecht to join the Discovery Data Science group. You will connect machine learning with laboratory experiments to understand antibody function and support discovery decisions.

You will develop ML models, design informative experiments, and contribute to reusable analytical workflows. Strong Python and Git skills, plus a PhD, are required, with English as the primary language.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant scientific or quantitative discipline with demonstrated expertise in data science and ML.
• Experience in immune-oncology, antibody discovery, or related areas valued.
• Experience with active learning, lab-in-the-loop methods, or sequential experimental design.
• Experience applying ML to biological/molecular data with biological context interpretation.
• Strong foundation in statistics, model development, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and experimental scientists to translate discovery questions into modelling objectives.
• Develop, apply, and evaluate ML models using molecular/experimental data.
• Design informative experiments and data-generation strategies for predictive modelling.
• Build reusable analytical workflows and modelling tools across discovery programs.
• Communicate modelling approaches, findings and limitations clearly to cross-disciplinary colleagues.
