Job summary

Artefact, a leading data and AI consultancy, is seeking a Data Scientist to drive transformational projects and develop innovative data science solutions for clients and our internal team. You will collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to understand client needs and strengthen relationships.

You will mentor junior data scientists, promote our work within data departments, and deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1–3 years of experience in data science, analytics or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of data processing, algorithms and data architecture; proficient in Python, SQL and R.
• Analytical mindset and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead transformational projects that use data to transform client operations and strategies.
• Develop innovative data science products and solutions for clients and internal teams.
• Build strong client relationships in collaboration with Consulting counterparts.
• Upskill the data science team by mentoring and sharing knowledge.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables and provide feedback to junior team members.
• Write highly optimized code to advance Artefact’s internal toolbox and knowledge base.

What You Will Be Doing

• Leading Transformational Projects: Spearheading ambitious projects that utilize data to transform our clients’ operations and strategies.
• Developing Data Science Solutions: Creating innovative data science products and solutions for both clients and our internal data science team.
• Building Client Relationships: Collaborating closely with your Consulting counterpart to understand client needs and strengthen relationships.
• Upskilling the Team: Contributing to the development of our data science team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior Data Scientists, and promoting our work within other data departments.
• Ensuring Quality Deliverables: Caring for team morale and ensuring that all missions are delivered to a high standard, providing feedback and support to less experienced team members.
• Optimising Code: Writing highly optimized code to advance Artefact’s internal toolbox and knowledge base.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: A completed Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or related subjects).
• Hands-On Experience: 1-3 years of experience in data science, analytics, or consulting, preferably within a marketing or digital context.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data processing, algorithms, and data architecture, along with proficiency in tools like Python, SQL, and R.
• Analytical Mindset: A passion for working with data to derive actionable insights and solve complex problems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to discuss both technical and non-technical topics with clients and team members.
• Curiosity and Passion: A genuine interest in continuous learning and exploring new technologies and tools in data and AI.
