Job summary

Basic-Fit invites a Data Platform Engineer to build the data foundation used across Europe, enabling trusted data for operations, marketing and finance.

You’ll join the central Data Platform Team to deliver batch and streaming pipelines in Databricks, enable self-service analytics with Power BI, and drive AI-powered automation while ensuring governance and reliability.

Work is hybrid: 4 days in the office and 1 day from home.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Databricks experience (about 1+ year).
• Curiosity for latest Databricks features (dashboards, apps).
• Understanding of batch vs streaming data processing.
• Strong SQL, PySpark, and Python skills.
• Experience building data pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory).
• Awareness of data quality, governance, and scalability.
• Interest in AI and building agents.
• English communication proficiency.

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

You’ll join the central Data Platform Team, working on the foundation of Basic-Fit’s data landscape.

In a typical week, you might:

• build batch and streaming pipelines in Databricks
• continuously improving Databricks, keeping up with the latest technologies
• collaborate with analysts to improve self-service reporting
• automate day-to-day work by leveraging the power of AI
• migrate legacy pipelines to a modern Databricks platform
• optimizeperformance, cost, governance, and reliability
• support designingdata models that are directly consumed inPower BI

Where you can make an impact

This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” role. You’ll actively shape:

• scalable data architecture (Lakeflow Connect, Databricks Apps etc.)
• AI and automation to improve data quality and usability
• self-service analytics across the business
• the future direction of our data platform

Who Are You?

• Hands-on experience with Databricks (around 1+ year)
• Curiosity about newest Databricks features (dashboards, apps etc.)
• Understanding of batch vs. streaming data processing
• Strong skills in SQL,PySpark, and Python
• Experience building data pipelines (e.g.with Azure Data Factory)
• Awareness of data quality, governance, and scalability
• Experience and curiosity towards AI and building agents
• Comfortable communicating in English
• Experience with PowerBI or any other reporting tool is a plus
