Job summary

Levy NL is seeking an interim Data Governance Lead / Senior Data Steward to harmonise data definitions and KPIs within a Dutch insurer. You will coordinate stock-taking of definitions, data sources, and reports, and run sessions with business and IT stakeholders to drive adoption of a unified glossary.

In this interim role, you will set up governance ownership and change processes to ensure definitions stay in use, delivering tangible improvements by late 2026.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Governance Lead or Senior Data Steward with data governance, metadata management and data quality.
• Hands-on experience building business glossaries or data catalogues.
• Ability to turn business terms into clear, testable definitions and lead workshops at management level.

Can you get a whole organisation to agree on what its numbers mean, and make it stick? A Dutch insurer is looking for an interim Data Governance Lead / Senior Data Steward to harmonise data definitions and KPIs in a short time.

What you'll do

• Take stock of existing definitions, data sources, reports and the bottlenecks between them
• Prioritise and run working sessions with business and IT stakeholders
• Organise decisions and record agreed definitions in a business glossary or data catalogue
• Set up ownership and a change process so the definitions stay in use

What you bring

• Proven experience as a Data Governance Lead or Senior Data Steward: data governance, metadata management and data quality
• Hands-on experience building business glossaries or data catalogues
• The ability to turn business terms into clear, testable definitions
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation at management level
• A hands-on, results-driven way of working in an IT and data environment

What we offer

• Interim Data Governance Lead / Senior Data Steward assignment from mid-October to 31 December 2026
• 32-40 hours per week, hybrid near Amersfoort
