Datashift Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands – a rapidly growing consultancy focused on delivering data‑driven solutions. In early 2025 we opened an office in Rotterdam to deepen our support for Dutch clients and accelerate growth.

Opportunity

As part of our fast‑growing Data Governance & Quality practice, we are hiring a Data Engineer to help clients unlock the full value of their data by building robust governance frameworks and optimizing data management & quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support clients on data governance best practices – implement data governance by design / shift left, embedding policies, data quality, and access controls early in the data lifecycle. Integrate governance into data pipelines and platforms using workflows, automation, CI/CD, and tools like Collibra, Purview, or custom frameworks.
• Automate the capture of technical metadata and lineage from source systems into data governance platforms such as Collibra.
• Advise and support the implementation of data quality tools such as Collibra Data Quality, Soda, Monte Carlo, or Great Expectations.
• Build maintainable data solutions – e.g. metadata pipelines, data profiling scripts, and data classification jobs.

Qualifications

• 2‑5 years of experience in data management, analytics, engineering, or BI, with an interest in data governance.
• Consulting & client engagement skills – preferred experience working with external clients or internal stakeholders to assess requirements, deliver solutions, and support change management.
• Hands‑on experience with data governance platforms – experience with Collibra or similar platforms is a plus.
• Technical proficiency – familiarity with SQL, APIs, and data integration concepts (e.g. ELT); scripting experience (Python, Groovy, Activiti/Flowable) for workflow automation is considered a plus.
• Communication – fluent in English and Dutch.
