Datashift, a fast-growing data consultancy, is expanding its Netherlands practice with a Data Governance Lead in Rotterdam. You will guide clients in defining actionable governance roadmaps and drive outcomes in data quality, compliance and management across engagements.

You will lead and mentor a consulting team, shape offerings, and collaborate with domain leads to share best practices. Fluent English and Dutch are essential for client delivery and teamwork.

Datashift is a very fast-growing consultancy team with a focus on delivering solutions that answer business questions with data and facts. In early 2025, we opened an office in Rotterdam to strengthen our support for clients in the Netherlands and drive our continued growth.

For one of our fastest growing practices, we are looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead. In this role, you will play a crucial role in guiding our clients in optimizing the benefits of data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients in defining their data governance roadmap – Assist clients in in formulating an actionable and prioritized data governance project roadmap. Understand which approach to use when.
• Lead and mentor consulting team– Foster a down-to-earth leadership approach, mentoring and inspiring a team of consultants to reach new heights. Provide guidance and set direction to successfully execute client projects.
• Implement data governance projects– Take full ownership of project execution, to drive meaningful outcomes in data quality, compliance, and management domains.
• Shape service offerings & thought leadership – Together with the Domain Lead, develop best practices and accelerators for data governance, contributing to internal knowledge sharing and industry thought leadership.

Job requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience – Strong background in consulting, with commercial responsibilities and client management expertise.
• Team management– Proven track record in contributing to a team-oriented environment, mentoring junior staff, and managing multiple client engagements.
• Expertise in data governance– Deep knowledge of the data landscape in general, data governance principles in specific and hands-on tooling experience (e.g. Collibra). Experience with vendor selection process (e.g. RFPs) is considered a plus.
• Communication– Fluent in English and Dutch.
