Job summary

Monks, a data-driven marketing technology company, seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and cloud infrastructure in the Netherlands. You will contribute to data cleansing, warehousing, and ML integration while bridging engineering and analytics for marketing applications.

The role requires strong Python/SQL, cloud data warehousing expertise, and a Dutch native speaker to support a major Netherlands client within the Data Strategy team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in a quantitative field such as Data Science, CS, Mathematics or Statistics.
• 5+ years of working experience in data science or data engineering or a related field.
• Associate Cloud Certification such as GCP Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, ML Engineer or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; API authentication via OAuth and API keys; troubleshooting common API challenges.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and tools such as dbt or Dataform.

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Automate end-to-end ETL processes for data integration and transformation.
• Design and implement data models and data warehouses.
• Create data transformation recipes to structure raw data for warehousing.
• Document data models, architectures, definitions, and metadata.
