Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Data Center Technician to support maintenance and decommissioning of data center equipment. You will follow defined procedures and work under the guidance of Datacenter Technician Leads to ensure safe, accurate handling of hardware and cabling.

Responsibilities include removing network cables during decommissioning, labeling and staging power and networking cables, performing basic hardware startups/shutdowns, and conducting physical audits of assets.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers and components.
• Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission.
• Run/Label/Stage Power & Networking Cables.
• DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning).
• Follows procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads.
• Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, standard procedures, and with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads.
• Physical audits of datacenter assets.
