Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. Middenmeer is seeking a hands-on Data Centre Technician to maintain cooling and mechanical infrastructure across the campus, with a focus on maintaining CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, and associated pipework.

You will perform planned maintenance, respond to faults, document activities in CMMS, and assist with commissioning and general facility tasks, working within permit-to-work controls and CBRE procedures.

Qualifications

• Recognized technical qualification in mechanical engineering, HVAC, refrigeration, or related field, or equivalent apprenticeship.
• 1–2 years hands-on mechanical or HVAC maintenance experience, ideally in data centers, hospitals, or industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on mechanical systems including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, pipework, and pressurization units.
• Respond to mechanical faults and alarms, diagnose root causes, and perform corrective repairs to maintain temperature and humidity within defined parameters.
• Perform daily site inspections of cooling plant and auxiliary systems, log findings, and escalate anomalies.
• Support commissioning, decommissioning, and change-management activities under permit-to-work controls.
• Work with specialist contractors during planned maintenance, ensuring compliance with CBRE procedures and Master Service Agreement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS and complete required documentation.
• Assist with general facility and electrical tasks to support data center reliability.
• Complete all mandatory training including mechanical safety and refrigerant handling.
