Job summary

Elity Global is seeking a Data Center Lead to command European Data Center Engineering, leading teams while remaining hands-on with colo builds, hardware deployments and capacity expansion. You will own physical infrastructure across racks, cabling, power and cooling and work closely with Network, Linux and Platform Engineering to ensure performance and reliability.

Job description

We're hiring a Data Center Lead for a global technology business running high-performance, latency-sensitive infrastructure at scale.

You'll lead the European Data Center Engineering team while staying hands-on with the environment - from colo builds, hardware deployments and capacity expansion to rack-level infrastructure, structured cabling and complex migrations. You'll work closely with Network, Linux and Platform Engineering, taking ownership of the physical infrastructure everything else runs on.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and develop a team of Data Center Engineers across Europe.
• Drive colo builds, migrations, capacity expansions and hardware lifecycle programmes.
• Stay hands-on with deployments, troubleshooting and complex infrastructure changes.
• Oversee racks, servers, fibre/copper cabling, power, cooling and physical connectivity.
• Work closely with Network, Linux and Platform teams on production infrastructure.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling and operational processes across sites.
• Own regional priorities and coordinate vendors, colocation partners and global engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• Strong data center / physical infrastructure experience.
• Solid knowledge of server hardware, racks, structured cabling, fibre/copper, networking, power and cooling.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong technical judgement and a willingness to get into the detail.
• Comfortable in environments where performance, resilience and reliability are critical.
