Job summary

Samsung Electronics Netherlands is seeking a hands-on Data Center Engineer to join our small, dedicated team in Amsterdam. You will install and maintain data center hardware, coordinate with vendors, and manage on-site operations, including incident response and hardware moves.

This role requires at least 5 years in data centers, fluent Dutch and English, and willingness to travel up to 10%. You’ll work with a 3-person team, support global activities, and contribute to standard operating

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working in data centers, coordinating service provisioning and installations.
• Hands-on hardware installation and troubleshooting experience (servers, network, cables).
• Experience coordinating projects within data center environments.
• Experience with inventory control and remote hands coordination.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace for complex spreadsheets and shared docs.
• Broad technical understanding of data center hardware, networking and cloud infra.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site operational support and execute infrastructure projects, including server relocations and hardware installations.
• Respond to daily ticket-based requests for hands-on support, hardware-related, ensuring timely resolution per SLAs.
• Relocate equipment between racks or data center locations, safely handling moves and installations.
• Address system alerts such as hardware failures and component replacements.
• Install servers, network and security gear, and structured cabling per industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and maintain physical network components and hardware systems.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for delivery and installation of racks, power, network gear and cabling.
• Ensure cabling and installations meet best practices and document procedures.
• Handle RMAs with vendors for faulty equipment and participate in on-call rotation.
